More Than Words~

TGIF everybody!! It has been a long, super hot week here in Tennessee and I am so ready for the weekend!! Before I head off for some rest and relaxation, I have a layout to share with you that I created with the Scraps Of Elegance July Kit~Patricia's Memoirs. I used a photo of my sweet niece Haley, and I just can't believe how quickly she is changing and growing up.

I started with a bottom layer of kit paper, then trimed down a second piece, distressing the edges and then cutting and water distressing the drapped pattern at one corner to reveal more of the pattern of the 1st layer of paper.

I added some extra texture to the background by using a Tim Holtz Doily Stencil and Ranger Texture Paste to create the pattern and then with the stencil still on I sprayed over it with Gilded Gold Prima Bloom Spray.

I created a matte for my photo out of corrugated board that I inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink In Tea Dye, and then added some Reneabouquets Gold Microbeads, and
Reneabouquets Sand Glitter Glass for lots of "chunky" texture.

The large floral layer, beside the photo was created using the Prima Flowers from this month's Floral Add On ,  flowers and sticker pieces from the Kit, resin flowers from this month's Elements Add On, along with a Reneabouquets Large Blush Chiffon Flower, and the handcrafted butterflies are Reneabouquets Champagne Dreams Butterflies that can be found in my Reneabouquets.com and the Reneabouquets Etsy Shops.

The smaller floral layer over the water distressed area include, a flower from the Kit, a Prima Tatiana Flower, a Blue Fern Chipboard Window from the Kit, and a  Prima Resin Rabbit. I created a bow from the crochet trim in the Elements Add On, popped on a fussy cut sticker from the kit and then added a sweet little Prima resin flower from the E.A.O. I created my quote by cutting out some of the stickers from the kit to form "More Than Words".

I hope you have a fun filled, creative weekend!! For me I am going to rest, spend some time with my family and keep in out of the heat!! Thanks for the visit! Hugs ~Renea

A Little Whimsy With The Scraps Of Elegance July Kit~

One of the things that I loved creating with my Pawpaw when I was growing up was miniatures. We would create little log cabins, fairy gardens and sweet little whimsical worlds that were bound by only our imaginations, and you will see my love of creating those secret worlds in a lot of my work. The following projects are an oversized tag pocket and a card that I created with the Scraps Of Elegance July Kit~Patricia's Memoirs and they show my love of the whimsical and miniature worlds.

I used the kit and add ons to set the scene of being outside ones doorway.

For the oversized tag, I layered on kit papers, and on the top layer, I stampled a brick pattern with a small Prima stamp from a past kit and some Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Ink,  then fussy cut one of the doorways from the paper, and added a stash Dusty Attic Door Lock that I inked with Tim Holtz Wild Honey Ink. I then fussy cut out a sweet little Vintage Image of a girl carrying a flower basket, and added her to the doorway.

At the bottom of the tag I added some Reneabouquets Crochet Lace #004, with flowers from past kits, and some Reneabouquets Pink Mini Texture Roses,  the "My Beloved" Sticker from the kit, a twine bow topped with one of the Prima Brads from the Elements Add On.

At the top of the doorway, I added more flowers, tucked in one of the Blue Fern Chipboard Windows from the kit that I inked up with some Vintage Photo Ink, fussy cut out a little bird from the kit stickers and then added on some Tiny Treasures Debutante Butterflies.

For the hang tag, I used some of the Crochet Trim from the Elements Add On, then created a bow with hand dyed seam binding and more of the crochet trim, topped it with one of the Prima Brads from the Elements Add On, and then tied on a large key from a Reneabouquets Key Trinkets Pack.

On the backside, I layered on more matching distress kit papers, and formed pockets from paper topped with Reneabouquets Crochet Lace #004. The top pocket has a little label created from the kit stickers and some of the Prima resin roses in the Elements Add On.
The bottom pocket was formed with the same paper and Crochet lace, then I added a Reneabouquets Brass Spoon Trinket, a sweet little past kit clip holding one of the Kit-Bo Bunny Noteworthy pieces.

Here you can see the tags created with the Bo Bunny Noteworthy pieces and fussy cut paper pieces from the kit and accented with the resin rose and brad pieces from the Elements Add On.

These little pieces are so perfect for journaling and small photos, and the pockets are so perfect for holding small momentos.

For the card, I layered on distressed layers of kit papers, stamping the brick pattern, fussy cutting out the doorway and Vintage image, and layering them on with some of the same goodies that you find on the tag.

I used the "Friends" sentiment from the kit stickers on this card accented with one of the larger keys from a Reneabouquets Key Trinkets Pack.

I created another Window with another one of the little Blue Fern Chipboard windows, and added on some of the same flowers that I used on the tag.

The back side of the card is finished out in matching kit paper for a designer look.

I hope you are having a FABulous weekend!! Here is to magical, whimsical worlds and using our imaginations to create things that make us happy! Hugs ~Renea

Miniature Vintage Room Divider~

Today, I have a fun little off the page project that I created using the Scraps Of Elegance July Kit~Patricia's Memoirs, and a sweet Scrapmatts Chipboard Screens Set to share with you.
I used the kit and screens to put together a Miniature Victorian Room Divider.

I first painted the screens with Prima White Crackle Texture Paste, and then inked over it with

Tim Holtz Tea Dye Ink  to get a yummy texture and Vintage color , and then got to layering on the details.

To hold the screens together I punched holes and added hand dyed seam binding and bows topped with Reneabouquets Mini Texture Roses.
For the left side, I distressed some of the kit paper, then cut out one of the Vintage lady images from the paper and added a Prima Shabby Chic Treasures Victorian Frame. I then added a Prima Flower from this month's Floral Add on, and some past kit mini roses.

For the right side I added more distressed paper, then fussy cut out one of the dresses from the papers and "hung" it on a Little Clothes Hanger that I embossed silver and added rhinestones to, the took one of the rhinestone brads from the Elements Add On to hold the clothes hanger. I then added some more of the past kit mini roses. The butterflies are Reneabouquets Tiny Treasures Debutante Butterflies.

Here you can see the detail I got from fussy cutting out the dress and then layering everything on dimensionally.

Back Side View.

Thank you so much for the visit!! I hope you have enjoyed walking through my project and that you get a chance to create something that brings a smile to your face! Hugs ~Renea

The Scraps of Elegance - July Kit - Patricia's Memoirs has debuted and it is a beauty!!! I just popped in to the Scraps Of Elegance store and it looks like there are some kits available although some of the add ons are already Sold Out, so grab yours now, because they will not last long!!

The following is a layout that I created using the kit along with some of the add ons. I did lots of technique work and layering, so let me walk you through how I put this one together:

I started with a layer of the Prima paper, then punched and sewed the next layer.

To get the texture you see in the background, I used the stencil from the kit and painted over it with Prima White Crackle Texture Paste letting it air dry for maximum crackle, then I inked over it softly with some Tim Holtz Distress Ink  In Tea Dye

I added a matte behind my photo by distressing and sewing some of the kit paper. I took the photo I wanted to use and painted around the image with some  Tim Holtz Distress Rock Candy Crackle, let it air dry then inked it really heavily with the Tea Dye Ink.

I fussy cut a wide pattern from the kit papers, and water distress it to simulate material and layered some Reneabouquets Blush Pink Lace and a rose die cut from the kit underneath.

I took the Blue Fern Chipboard Feather from this month's Element's Add On and painted it white, then layered on tulle and heated it up so that it melted into the paint and gave me some gorgeous texture. I then layered in the feathers from the kit for softness, adding some stash bling to the large one.

The floral layering was created with a Die Cut  and flower from the kit, a large flower from a past kit and a Petaloo Vintage Mauve Flower, some Reneabouquets Texture Mini Roses In Soft Pink and some stash mulberry paper leaves.

For the top corner, I added a Oval Resin Cabochon, a kit flower, some more Petaloo flowers and texture mini rose, and then "hung" a set of  Prima Shabby Chic Resin Ballerina Slippers.

To top the layout off, I added a set of  two of  the  Reneabouquets Debutante Butterflies that I created just for this kit.

I hope you get a chance to grab one of the kits, or to come hang out with us on the SOD/SOE Facebook Community Page. There is always lots of fun stuff and inspiration happening over there!! Until next time, Hugs ~Renea

Birdie Darling Pocket Journal~

Do you like to journal, tuck in treasures and collect memorabilia and small photos? Well then a pocket journal project may just be for you!! I just love all those things so creating these sweet little nooks are right up my alley. I created the following pocket journal using  the Scraps Of Elegance June Kit, but you can pick up the July Kit that is now availble!

I created a pocket folder from the kit papers,

and then layered on more kit paper layers that I distressed, a doily from the kit and a sweet Reneabouquets Birdie Darling Tag, adding on some Reneabouquets Tiny Treasures Fenton Art Glass Dragonflies for gorgeous texture and dimension.

I ran  some White Reneabouquets Timeless Lace across the bottom, pulled apart a Pink Petaloo Berry Pick and tucked the pieces under a Reneabouquets Soft Pink Chiffon Pearl & Rhinestones Flower, a little Prima Bird Nest, a SOE Floral Add On Flower and a little hand painted mulberry paper flower.

At the top corner, I took one of the Blue Fern Chipboard pieces from the SOE Embellishment Add On, distress painted it and then dusted it with Pink Reneabouquets Chunky Glitter Glass and Reneabouquets Silver Microbeads then popped on a Prima Ingvild Bolme Clock Faces and topped it off with another hand painted mulbery paper rose.

Here is the system that includes the pocket folder, two large tags created from the kit paper and Vintage Lace with little roses, two  smaller tags cut from the kit papers and topped with hand dyed seam binding and Ivory Resin Flowers , as well as an accordian fold piece cut from the kit papers.

A close up of all the tuck ins that give you so many sweet spots for journaling, small pictures and attatching memorabilia.  I hope you have a great weekend and find some time to create a special piece of art all your own!! Hugs ~Renea
