Butterfly Fairy Tea Cup~

I love doing miniatures, and the Scraps Of Elegance April Kit~Lynne's Garden Terrace was so perfect for doing a Fairy Butterfly Tea Cup!

I used the kit papers to create my cup and saucer, then filled it with poly fill and topped  it with a large fabric flower from my stash then got to adding little treasures.

I added a garden gate piece from a past kit.

I fussy cut the little butterfly fairy from the kit papers then glitter painted accents and added some bling for a little sparkle. I then added a Prima Sparrow Bird's Nest
fussy cut some little birds from one of the tags and glitter painted them up,

added some feathers, some flowers and foliage from this month's floral add on that I sprinkled some Reneabouquets Diamond Chunky Glitter Glass on to add a touch of magic, then topped the cup edge with a Reneabouquets Tiny Treasures Cinderella's Glass Slipper Butterfly.

Here you can see all the top details.

At the bottom, I added some reindeer moss, some more flowers coated in Glitter Glass and the sweet little Prima resin lady bug from this month embellishment add on that I added some rhinestones to.

Oh I love a little magic, fairies and anything tea themed, and this Scraps Of Elegance Kit can help anyone to make a little magic in their craft room!!  I  do now have some of these pre-cut 3D Tea Cups in my Reneabouquets.com and Reneabouquets Etsy Shop, as well as a step out video showing how to put them together :

So Dapper~Scraps Of Darkness April Kit-Laura's Wish

This month, our Scraps Of Darkness Kit is named after our very talented and so very sweet, Laura Gilhuly! I know that the kit is already sold out, and I can see why, because it is a perfect one to scrap those upcoming Father's Day projects with.

This is a layout that I created with the kit using an old photo of my Pawpaw and my Uncle Ralph as a baby. The original photo was torn and worn, so instead of trying to make it perfect, I just replicated it and used the flaws for character.

Lots of kit paper layers here that were distressed, torn, sewn, and inked. All the ephemera pieces behind the photo were from the kit and the chest and clock pieces were fussy cut from the papers.

I did some stenciling with the stencil from the kit, as well as some Tim Holtz Distress Rock Candy Crackle  painting. All the inking and the over inking of the crackle paint were done with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Ink. I added some Prima Clock Hands to one of the fussy cut clocks, and burlap pieces for texture.

The flowers and twine were from the kit and this month's floral add on.
The large chipboard clock piece was a die cut that I inked with Tim Holtz Barn Door Distress Ink and then over inked with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Ink.

I created a side layer with torn and sewn papers, burlap, some more fussy cut clocks and flowers.

Thanks for checking our my first project with the April Scraps Of Darkness Kit!! I hope you have a great day! Hugs ~Renea

Dance Tag Set~Scraps Of Elegance April Kit-Lynne's Garden Terrace

TGIF!!! As we head to the weekend, I have a set of matching tags that I created with the April Scraps Of Elegance Kit~Lynne's Garden Terrace to share with you. I used some Dance images that I had used on past layouts and lots of soft distressed layers to get a dreamy, Shabby look.

I wanted a really soft look so I took some of the Bo Bunny paper and coated it with gesso, then I took a  Tim Holtz Doily Stencil and went over it with Ranger Texture Paste, and with the stencil still on I misted it with some Lindy's Mist from a past kit. I then inked the distressed edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Tea Dye.

Next I punched another layer of paper and stamped it with a Prima brick stamp from a past kit. I then added a sewn matte layer and then sewed my images and added them. I made hand dyed seam binding bows, topped them with a Divalicious Rhinestone Button, and then pulled some of the small lace from the kit through for a hang tag.

At the bottom of each photo, I added flowers from the kit and this month's floral add on, and some stash foliage, some Victorian Days Wide Lace, and topped them off with some of my handcrafted Tiny Treasures Champagne Dreams Butterflies from my Reneabouquets.com Store and the Reneabouquets Etsy Shop.

Here is a close up of the 1st tag.

And here is a close up of the 2nd tag.

Thank you for dropping by!! I hope you have a FABulous weekend!! Me, I am going to catch up on some much needed rest and try to get a few things done around the house since it will be raining most of the weekend. Hugs to you ~Renea

Unbelievable~Scraps Of Elegance April Kit~Lynne's Garden Terrace

Are you dreaming of warm Spring day and walks in the garden? The Scraps Of Elegance April Kit~Lynne's Garden Terrace will transport you to magical gardens filled with nature, roses and fairies!! Named after our sweet, talented, scrappy sister, Lynne Joncas, it will have you sighing and stopping to smelling the roses.

I teamed up the April Kit along with the gorgeous mood board created for out Scraps Of Darkness/ Scraps Of Elegance Community Facebook monthly mood board challenge by Design Team Member~Fena:

To create the following layout. I used an oh so romantic photo from 500 Pixels by photographer Lauren Ross as my inspiration, and got busy with lots of layering and technique.

I distressed and inked my edges on all my paper which were quite a few different layers from the kit papers.

I did machine sewing on my photo and on the paper layer underneath. There is also 2 layers of torn and inked book pages, and some Reneabouquets Timeless Vintage Lace  layered underneath as well.

The Rose Quartz Glitter Glass Butterflies were hand crafted by me, just for this kit, and you can find them in the kit or in my Reneabouquets.com and the Reneabouquets Etsy Shop.

I cut some pieces from the papers and added some of the sweet lace from the kit to the edging and added that on to my layout.

All the shading was done by inking the paper with Tim Holtz Distress Tattered Rose Ink, and then paiting over the inking with Tim Holtz Distress Crackle  Paint, letting that dry, then I dry brushed some of the gorgeous Lindy's Magical Powder onto it to bring out the cracks and the multi colors from the powder looked so YUMMY!!

I ran the pearls from the kit up the side of the photo layers and around the title I created with with one of the kit pieces, a metal piece from the kit and a flower from this month's Floral Add On.

I then added some cheese cloth, a Reneabouquets Large Ivory Chiffon Flower, flowers and leaves from the kit and this months Floral Add On.

I added more cheesecloth at the top corner and layered on a Reneabouquets Ivory Chiffon Fabric Flower and more Floral Add On Flowers.

I then tore out some sections of my layout to reveal that gorgeous paper underneath and heavily inked the edges.

Here you can see all the dimension and layering.

Thanks for joining me for my first project with the April Kit!! I can't wait to play some more. Hugs ~Renea

Scraps Of Darkness/Scraps Of Elegance ATC Swap~

Do you love ATCs?? I do!! Working on that small 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 scale pushes my creativity and layering skills, so I thoroughly enjoy the challenge.

Over at the Scraps Of Darkness/ Scraps Of Elegance Facebook Community, I host a bi-monthly ATC swap, and right now we are nearing the end of the March-April Swap, and in a couple of weeks I will be putting up the May-June Sign Ups, so I hope you will join us!!

I actually took 2 partners this month and first up I have an ATC that I created for my swap partner, Rhue Chantel that I created with the Scraps Of Elegance March Kit~Anna's Day Dream.

I sewed my paper layers and little distressed heart together. Added lots of texture with inked chipboard, layers of trim, cheesecloth, feathers and seed beads.

Here you can see all the layering in that I did and inking that just add so much depth to these really small pieces.

This next ATC was created for my Swap Partner-Debbie Cook. I created it from the same kit using some of the same type of elements and colors.

I did edge sewing, torn corner layers, a tulle dress for my Prima Resin Courset, layered in trim, feathers and seed beads for lots of texture,

Here you can see all the textures and layers.

I challenge you to work on a scale or in a medium that you don't normally use. It really can take your artistry to another level!! Once you take that challenge, then I hope that you will come join us for a Swap!! It is so much fun!! Hugs ~Renea

Huntress Of Steammonsters~Scraps Of Darkness March Kit

OK so I had to get my Steampunk on in honor of my sweet, scrappy, oh so Steampunkalicious Scraps Of Darkness sister, Michelle Phillips!! This month's kit was named after her and this layout is my take on her FAV Steampunk style!!

I used a photo titled Huntress of Steammonsters that features MADmoiselle Meli that was taken by Reiner Eisenbeis. Photo is used with  Meli's permission, and you can find her work here:
She is such an amazing talent, she is a  model, make up artist and costume designer showcasing all her talents in her photos and art work.

Lots of kit paper layering, distressing, inking, misting, and punching makes up the base layers of this layout. The photo matte was created from some used up sand paper, I had laying on my desk.

All the flowers were from this months floral add on, and kit as well as some from past kits. The twine say it in crystals, and metal pieces were all from the kit.

Here you can see a close up of all the layering that I did with the flowers, metal pieces, twine, butterflies and chipboard gears.

More layering details.

And a close up of the twine and metal eyelet lacing I did at the top and all the inking and spray stain work.

I love trying on different styles and stretching my imagination! It is so much fun to go outside your comfort zone and the Scraps Of Darkness Kits allows you try so many different styles with their technique based items that Melinda so amazingly puts together. Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you have a great weekend!! Hugs ~Renea

Home Is~ Card & Tag Set

Hello, and welcome to my blog!! Today, I have a matching card and oversized tag set to share with you. I created this set using the Scraps Of Elegance March Kit~Anna's Daydream.

I started with layers of the kit papers that I  grunge punched, and heavily distressed then inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink. Added a layer of the crochet trim from the kit that I also ran the ink pad over. I then took some burlap pieces and canvas pieces that I two tone misted with Tim Holtz Distress Stain in Peacock Feathers and Rusty Hinge.

For the card I cut down one of the tags from the Elements Add On with the quote "A House is made of bricks and beams, A Home is made of love and dreams" and grunge punched, distressed and inked it up, added it to the canvas then formed a hemp rope circular frame and adhered that over the quote piece.

I added one of the metal pieces and the Chasing Butterflies from the kit, a resin flower from the Floral add on, resin feathers from the Elements Add On, a stash feather, and a Prima Cradle Robin Bird Nest.

The chipboard bricks were from a past kit, and I inked the "mortar" and coated the bricks with Prima White Sand Texture Paste

For the Tag, I just repeated the design of the card and used the quote piece "having someone to love is Family, having a place to go is Home, having them both is a Blessing".

Thank you so much for the visit!! I hope you have enjoyed taking a peek at my card and tag set!! Here is to lots of creativity and the time to to create!! Hugs ~Renea
